Hi, My name is Jack Conrad and I will be arriving in Springfield to visit family tomorrow (Friday) until next Friday. My wife and I travel in our RV, along with 4 of our kayaks. I found your website and the photos of Dead Carp Drop. I contacted Erik Johnson and he was kind enough to set up an acount on this forum for me. I am interested in doing some paddling next week if anyone is interested. Jack

Erik they changed the one main rodeo hole at Wausau. It is still fun but not nearly as good as it was last year... Hopefully they change it back..

I'm now living in Alexandria VA a few miles up the road from George and Martha's place. I've been lead to believe that the paddling is pretty good in the area so I'm looking forward to that and the drive to the Yough will certainly be easier.

If anyone is in the area feel free to drop me a line - I'll even have a spare kayak.

Hi all. Some paddlers from the Decatur area have started a group called Central Il Adaptive Kayaking. CIAKs goal is to teach people with disabilities to kayak. This weekend is our instructors training where we'll teach volunteers the ins and outs of adaptive kayaking. Unfortunately, a few of our volunteers had to drop out at the last minute. I know it's last minute but we could use some replacements. The training will be at the Y in Decatur. Saturday we'll be in the classroom Sunday in the pool. The training is free and open to anyone interested in adaptive paddling. Let me know if you can make it.

I was concerned about you squashing me too, but it was worth it just to see you neck deep in water after Smokies. And I join you in that thanks to Rincker. It was a great to see you and Clio surfing his boat. Clio and Erin were really working as a team by Tea Kettle.

Loved seeing you in your squirt below Gilmore's! Some nice mystery moves you got there.

Big public thanks for loaning out the blow up toy to Rinker! My plan after watching Clio and Erin run section IV in that baby and having a blast was to come back home and start shopping, but then the wife called on Sunday morning and explained how much we owed for Sarah's tuition...I may roll down to the blood bank and see what they get for a quart or two....

Gabe, have to admit, I was a little concerned about squashing you, but I had a nice brace off your head. That whole trip was a blast, was laughing so hard dropping Big Smokies, I think I sucked in some of that foam - yum.

I'm just glad the big hair-challenged galoot behind me in the Ducky didn't land in my lap before the whole rig tipped over after we polished the rooster tail at Big Smokies.

Clio and Erin ran Smokies backward on their first try! Wooo hooo! Must run in the family!

Rincker, you shoulda seen Perry and Clio surfing your Ducky at Lunch Rock! Awesome sight.
