I walked past one of our safety posters today and had to turn around to look again. It was of a bmx biker gliding through the air and landing in the water, after launching from a ramp.

That made start thinking about a portable ramp for DCD or any other area we wanted to use it. I would like to build a ramp and be able to through up in a short amount of time and with minimal expense. So I pose this idea out to you all and lets see what happens with designs. I am interested in any pictures or prints someone has.

Yeah, I know. And worst of all, I hate the color pink. Oh well, Maybe it'll be a boy. Maybe I'll get to boat this year. Maybe maybe maybe. I don't mind. It's going fun. We should know what it is goign to be by the Xmas party.

Btw, Dick, has that been changed as I thought I read in an earlier post due to weather concerns???

I have a 19" IMac and think it is great. However, the monitor Tony has just blows it away. Yes it is higher $ than the one above but you can sit back and see great detail from a distance too. If you are going to use it for looking at movies to you pictures and if I had the cash I would go that way.

I have been remiss in this duty but Jenny's pregnant and due in March. Figure this is among the best ways of reaching our friends. We found out about a month ago and she's about 11 weeks along so we are beginning to tell people now. Baby's due around the time of the races so I might not be on the water this year but that's a small price to pay.

Noah's very excited and can't wait to see the new "it" (we wouldn't know the gender for about eight to nine weeks). Anyway, thought it was time to tell people. So when you see us next at the Xmas party, things will be a bit different.

Hey Ed,

Industrial LCD monitors are what I do for a living.

LCD is the only way to go. Plasma is for large TV's, not computer usage, OLED is a new technology that is only available in very small sizes (phone size)
Size: For computer usage get one up to 22" in size, with the most bang for the buck being the 19" size. 17" will only be slightly less $ than a 19", but the 22" take a big leap in cost.

You will only find widescreen monitors in the consumer market in 19"+ sizes. Make sure your video card can do the 16:9 aspect ratio. Check your resolution settings, typical widescreen resolutions are 1280x768 or 1440 x 900 for this size range.

Looking at Best Buy's website, I would choose the following, but would recommend you go to the store and look at it in person:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8739074&type=product&id=1201913867265

You could save up to $30 by going with one of the China made displays, but the extra money is well spent on this one.

Good luck,
Glenn
